DCA's Office of Planning partners with local governments and authorities, regional commissions, and other state agencies on a variety of planning, land use and environmental programs. Our planning staff can provide hands-on assistance to address issues specifically identified in local comprehensive plans, and offer appropriate tools to achieve a community vision. We promote responsible development, a healthy environment and a high quality of life in each of Georgia’s communities by helping them implement measures to achieve current goals without compromising the needs of future generations.
NOTE: The deadlines associated with all comprehensive planning, capital improvements (impact fee), or service delivery (SDS) documents are the dates by which DCA must have verified that your SDS is compliant--the deadlines are not submittal dates, they are process completion dates. We recommend 60-90 day lead times to ensure that reviews can be completed and any necessary revisions conducted and subsequently reviewed before passage of applicable deadlines.
