COVID-19 RESPONSE 

THE CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) HAS CREATED A LOCAL, NATIONAL, AND GLOBAL IMPACT. PUBLIC HEALTH AUTHORITIES ARE WORKING TOWARD LIMITING THE SPREAD OF THIS NEW VIRUS AND GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS IS ACTIVELY PARTICIPATING IN THIS COMMUNITY-WIDE EFFORT AND FOLLOWING CDC AND GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH RECOMMENDATIONS.

COMMUNITY HOME INVESTMENT PROGRAM (CHIP) GRANTEES

Construction Projects

DCA encourages CHIP grantees to follow the State-mandated shelter-in-place restrictions and CDC social-distancing guidance on all construction sites and when deciding whether to begin/continue work on owner-occupied units.

Grant Extensions

In response to concerns for more time to complete projects:

  • All 2017-2018 CHIP grant terms will be extended until June 30, 2021
  • All 2019 CHIP grant terms will be extended until June 30, 2022
  • All 2016 or older CHIP grant term extension requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis
