Emergency Housing Voucher Program
- Basic Info
The Emergency Housing Voucher (EHV) program is available through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Through EHV, HUD will provide 70,000 housing choice vouchers to the state and local housing agencies. HUD awarded the Georgia Department of Community Affairs a total of 798 vouchers.
The vouchers are designed to assist individuals and families who are:
- Homeless (staying in shelter or place not meant for human habitation)
- At risk of homelessness,
- Fleeing, or attempting to flee, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, or human trafficking, or
- Recently homeless and for whom providing rental assistance will prevent the family’s homelessness or having high risk of housing instability, including clients in rapid rehousing and permanent supportive housing programs.
The EHV Program is not immediate assistance. Individuals will need to complete and application and have a referral from a Coordinated Entry access point below. Individuals not able to identify an access point using the listing below, please contact BoSEHV@dca.ga.gov with your current county of residence.
