The Emergency Housing Voucher (EHV) program is available through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).  Through EHV, HUD awarded the Georgia Department of Community Affairs a total of 798 vouchers.

The vouchers are designed to assist individuals and families who are: 

  • Homeless (staying in shelter or place not meant for human habitation)
  • At risk of homelessness,
  • Fleeing, or attempting to flee, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, or human trafficking, or
  • Recently homeless and for whom providing rental assistance will prevent the family’s homelessness or having high risk of housing instability, including clients in rapid rehousing and permanent supportive housing programs.

The The EHV program is not immediate assistance. Please review the below list for Coordinated Entry Access Points, counties with their own vouchers, and counties outside of DCA’s coverage area. If your county is listed, you will need to complete an application and have a referral from a Coordinated Entry Access Point. If you are unable to locate your county of residence from the list below, please send an email to BoSEHV@dca.ga.gov with the following information:

  • Your county of residence;

  • Details about your current housing situation;

  • Any relevant documentation, such as eviction notice, etc.

The EHV email inbox is monitored, but it may take several days to reply due to high demand. Including the above details will greatly assist us to respond to your message in a timelier manner.
