The Georgia Department of Community Affairs (“DCA”) hereby notifies interested Applicants of the availability of one-time funding of $17 million allocated in the FY2022 Amended State Budget for the purpose of supporting transformative economic development projects in rural downtowns that will revitalize the community.  The availability and use of these funds are subject to all applicable state laws and regulations, and is further subject to DCA’s policies. DCA is the administrator of the state’s Rural Downtown Redevelopment Grant Program. 

The 2022 Schedule of Surveys and Reports for all local governments and local authorities is available.

One of the programs of AmeriCorps, AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC), is a full-time, residential, national service program whose mission is to strengthen communities and develop leaders through direct, team- based national and community service. AmeriCorps NCCC teams are assigned 3-6 service projects throughout their 10-month service term, primarily in the states or territories within their region.

The development and implementation of a comprehensive statewide historic preservation plan is one of the responsibilities of each State Historic Preservation Office, as outlined in the National Historic Preservation Act. The Plan includes information about trends in Georgia and how they may affect historic properties; mission, vision and goals for historic preservation; information about Georgia's historic and archaeological resources, and about the statewide preservation planning process.

Pursuant to the Requirements of the Georgia Administrative Procedures Act, as amended, attached are the revised Rules for the Historic Preservation Division's Non-Certified Local Government Grant Program. Also attached are a Notice of Intent form and a Summary of the proposed program rule amendments.

HB317 will provide local governments across Georgia with local Hotel-Motel Excise Taxes on short-term vacation rentals statewide. This recorded webinar for local government finance officials, Chamber and CVB leaders, and accountants/auditors will provide information about the flow of funds, accounting norms, restricted spending requirements, and other important questions as this change goes into effect on July 1.
