Public Notice - Proposed Amendment to the FFY2022 State of Georgia CDBG Method of Distribution

August 18, 2022 - Notice is hereby given by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs of the amending of the FFY2022 for the State of Georgia Community Development Block Grant Method of Distribution. The proposed amendment involves modifications to the allocation of funds and the scope of the Innovative Grant Program Set-Aside. The purpose of the public hearing is to receive citizen comments on the proposed amendment.

The Department is committed to providing communities with the financial resources to adequately address local needs including providing safe and affordable housing and other transformational changes. As an additional resource to help local governments meet this challenge, DCA will broaden the CDBG Innovative Grant program by providing additional guidance which more closely aligns with current state priorities. The purpose of the public hearing is to receive citizen comments on the proposed amendment which includes increasing the allocation from $4 million to $10 million. Georgia’s FFY2022 CDBG program is offered to eligible cities and counties for a wide range of activities as authorized under Section 105(a) of the Housing and Community Development Act (HCDA) of 1974, as amended. The public comment period began on August 18, 2022, by posting on the Georgia Department of Community Affairs website and distribution by e-mail to program stakeholders to inform the public of the proposed amendment to Method of Distribution and inviting comments through Tuesday, August 30, 2022.
