ATLANTA (August 30, 2019) – Gov. Brian Kemp today announced that 59 Georgia communities will receive a total of $41 million in federal assistance to help grow their local economies. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) allocated the funding to Georgia’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, which is administered by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA).

             PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Georgia Housing and Finance Authority will hold a public hearing at 10:00 a.m., August 23, 2019 at its principal office located at 60 Executive Park South, N.E., Atlanta, Georgia 30329 in Room 202, 2nd floor, or such other room as noted outside Room 202 at the time of the hearing. The purpose of the hearing is to provide an opportunity for public comment on the proposed plan of financing involving the sale and issuance of up to and including Two Hundred Fifty Million Dollars ($250,000,000) of qualified mortgage revenue bonds.

The Department of Community Affairs (DCA) announces the 2019 Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) Program Supplemental Application.  The HOPWA program provides resources and incentives to devise long-term comprehensive strategies for meeting the housing needs of low-income persons living with HIV/AIDS and persons in their family.

MedLink Georgia receives federal funds for facility expansion 

The Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) and the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) have invested $326,541 into the new MedLink Clinic in Hull, GA. These funds helped the non-profit community health center expand services for its patients.  

DCA to host a free workshop for property managers, directors, stakeholders  

(ATLANTA) February 5, 2019 – The Georgia Department of Community Affairs is offering a free Income Averaging Compliance Kickoff on March 14. This workshop, provided by DCA’s Office of Portfolio Management, is geared toward property managers and owners, compliance directors and project stakeholders.
