The Chairman’s Award is presented annually to a Georgia AmeriCorps program director whose actions demonstrate the spirit of AmeriCorps and a belief in the power of national service to get things done for our state and country. The recipient provides a sense of purpose, vision, and mission for his/her team. He/she consistently works above and beyond normal job expectations and distinguishes him/herself by creating a work environment where going the extra mile is a way of being. He/she invests time and effort in coaching and mentoring members. The recipient is an exemplary representative of the dedication and work ethic needed to lead an AmeriCorps team.
Kristen Thomas - Hands on Atlanta
The Beyond the Call Award is presented annually to an AmeriCorps member who embodies the values set forth in the AmeriCorps pledge to take action, seek common ground, and persevere in the face of adversity. He/she is not only committed to the work of his/her team but also demonstrates a heart for working collaboratively to find solutions to social inequalities. He/she sees community challenges as opportunities for change. The recipient’s contributions inspire his/her fellow members, build reciprocal relationships with communities served, and reflect the truth that national service holds the power to get things done for Georgia and all of America.
Sara Ferriba - Extra Special People
The Georgia AmeriCorps Team of the Year Award is presented annually to the AmeriCorps team that demonstrates excellence in mission achievement, operational performance, capacity building, and sustainable results. The high performing team exemplifies characteristics including but not limited to inclusivity, leadership, reciprocity, stewardship, creativity, and impact. The team receiving the award is recognized as an outstanding representative of the potential and power of national service for both Georgia and America.
