NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING 

AND 

INTENT TO ADOPT RULES FOR THE ANNEXATION ARBITRATION PROCESS 

Notice is hereby given that the Department of Community Affairs will hold a public hearing in accordance with the Administrative Procedures Act, O.C.G.A. §50-13-1, et seq. The hearing will afford all interested persons reasonable opportunity to provide data, views, or arguments regarding proposed rules for the Annexation Arbitration Process (Rules of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, Chapter 110-12-8). 

The public hearing will be held at 2:00 P.M. on October 7, 2022, in Board Room 302 of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, 60 Executive Park South, N.E., Atlanta, Georgia 30329.  

Any party wishing to provide data, views, or arguments regarding the proposed rules in writing may do so by submitting them to: Authority Rules, Office of Community Planning, Research, and Geoanalytics, Georgia Department of Community Affairs, 60 Executive Park South, N.E., Atlanta, Georgia 30329, emailing them to research@dca.ga.gov or by presenting them at the public hearing. These written comments must be received no later than 5:00 P.M. on October 7, 2022.

Notice is hereby given that, at a meeting beginning at 1:00 P.M. on November 9, 2022, at the Savannah Economic Development Authority at 906 Drayton Street, Savannah, Georgia 31401, the Board of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) intends to adopt rules related to the Annexation Arbitration Process (Rules of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, Chapter 110-12-8).  If adopted by the Board of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, the proposed rules will become effective automatically, 20 days after their subsequent filing with the Office of the Secretary of State.

The Department’s authority to administer this program is recognized in O.C.G.A. § 36-36-110 and O.C.G.A. § 50-8-1 . A complete copy of these proposed rules is available for public inspection in the Office of Community Planning, Research, and Geoanalytics, Georgia Department of Community Affairs, 60 Executive Park South, N.E., Atlanta, Georgia 30329, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., each Monday through Friday (excluding State holidays).
