The legacy of a Georgia landmark is still intact: The Soap Creek Marina and Resort officially reopened on Sept. 12. This project includes the restoration of the marina, resort, restaurant and nearby factory for boat manufacturing and distribution by Michigan-based company Apex Marine. The Georgia Agribusiness and Rural Jobs Act (GARJA) Program, administered by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, provides an economic boost to businesses in rural areas. GARJA legislation passed in 2017 provided $100 million, which was divided equally across five certified Rural Funds (lenders). Enhanced Capital Georgia Rural Fund, LLC, funded the Soap Creek project.
