Lithonia Resident Accomplishes Dream of Being a Homeowner
Our Georgia Dream program provides down payment assistance for first-time home buyers. In our Keys to Success series, we’ve asked residents from all across Georgia share how they were able to accomplish their goal of securing the keys to their success and becoming homeowners!
Anita James had been residing in temporary housing since March 2020. With her Realtor and loanDepot, she learned about the Georgia Dream program and how she could own a home.
“As a recent widow, I received hope for homeownership in the middle of the pandemic,” James said.
Not only is she forever grateful to the program, but James recalls how the program staff was very courteous with all her inquiries and education information needed. By receiving financial assistance of $15,000, it meant that James finally had an opportunity to be a homeowner.
“It is to your advantage to do research into DCA and the various programs available to consumers in need of assistance,” she said.
