In light of the COVID-19 crisis, the Department of Community Affairs (DCA) has extended the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) application deadline from April 10, 2020 to May 1, 2020.  The ARC is a partnership among thirteen states and the federal government; and provides funding for community and economic development projects in 37 counties of north Georgia.

In light of the COVID-19 crisis, the Department of Community Affairs (DCA) has extended the OneGeorgia Equity Program application deadline from April 10, 2020 to May 1, 2020.  The OneGeorgia Equity program provides grant and loan funding to promote the economic vitality of rural Georgia.  Applications are accepted on a quarterly basis.  All applications must be received (not postmarked) by May 1, 2020.   In the meantime, applicants do not need to contact DCA to qualify for this extension.  We encourage applicants to submit as soon as possible and welcome early submissions.

As we near the April 1st deadline for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Revitalization Area Strategy (RAS) applications, we are mindful of how the COVID-19 crisis may have affected local governments and partner organizations preparing for an application submission.  Therefore, we are extending the deadline for the FY20 State CDBG Annual Competition for Non-Entitlement Communities to Friday, May 1, 2020.  All applications must be RECEIVED (not postmarked) by May 1, 2020.  Hand delivered applications will not be accepted;

Protecting the health and safety of AmeriCorps members, program staff, volunteers, and partners is CNCS' and the GA Commissions' top priority. We are continuing to closely monitor the situation and follow the latest guidance from federal, state, and local health departments.

AmeriCorps Week, March 8-14, 2020, is a celebration of all things AmeriCorps – from the programs and organizations that make this national service initiative possible in communities across the country, to the members who have pledged to “Get Things Done” since the program’s inception in 1994.
