Public Notice: Criteria and Procedures for Regional Commission Boundary Changes
The Georgia Planning Act authorizes the Board of Community Affairs ("Board") to determine and establish from time to time, the territorial boundaries for Regional Commissions (“RCs”) (O.C.G.A. § 50-8-4(f)(2)). Any boundary change, however, must be ratified by joint resolution or legislative act of the General Assembly before becoming effective.
The proposed revisions to the “Criteria and Procedures for Regional Commission Boundary Changes” (last updated October 2010) are accessible below.
The public comment period began on March 15, 2021 by posting on the Georgia Department of Community Affairs website to inform the public and inviting comments through April 15, 2021.
