AmeriCorps Week 2022
The annual celebration of AmeriCorps members, alumni, AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers, and programs began March 13. From March 13-19, AmeriCorps, the federal agency for national service and volunteerism, will celebrate AmeriCorps Week, and the millions of Americans who have pledged to “get things done” for America through AmeriCorps and AmeriCorps Seniors. The annual celebration recognizes Americans who choose to serve their country through AmeriCorps and the community partners who help make that happen, while also encouraging more Americans to follow their footsteps in service.
Throughout last year, AmeriCorps continued to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, implemented new resources through the American Rescue Plan, launched Public Health AmeriCorps in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and united the country on two national days of service: MLK Day and the 20th anniversary of 9/11 Day.
This AmeriCorps Week, AmeriCorps celebrates the millions of Americans ages 18 to 65+, who have served with AmeriCorps and AmeriCorps Seniors. Right now, there are 250,000 people serving as members or volunteers in over 40,000 locations across all 50 states and territories. To join the celebration, follow AmeriCorps on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and join the conversation by sharing pictures and stories on Twitter, using #AmeriCorpsWeek.
