Public Notice - Proposed FFY20/21 CDBG Method of Distribution
February 2, 2021 - Notice is hereby given by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs of the drafting of the FFY20/21 for the State of Georgia Community Development Block Grant Method of Distribution. The proposed Method of Distribution outlines the national program goals and objectives outlined in Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act as well as the State’s CDBG program goals to accomplish the following:
- Address State and community priorities;
- Ensure fairness in the treatment of all applications;
- Promote the development of affordable housing;
- Assist communities in preserving and developing basic infrastructure and public facilities; and
- Support economic development activities that principally benefit low- and moderate-income persons through job training and job creation.
Georgia’s FFY2020/2021 CDBG program is offered to eligible cities and counties for a wide range of activities as authorized under Section 105(a) of the Housing and Community Development Act (HCDA) of 1974, as amended. The eligible activities for the FFY2020/2021 program year are described within the Method of Distribution which can be downloaded/viewed at https://www.dca.ga.gov/node/5875.
The public comment period began on February 3, 2021 by posting on the Georgia Department of Community Affairs website and distribution by e-mail to program stakeholders to inform the public of the proposed Method of Distribution and inviting comments through February 15, 2021.
